The Palmer Luckey-founded bank is weighing a new round after deposits rose to $4.05 billion from $1.1 billion in three months, Bloomberg reported.
Erebor Bank is in talks over a new fundraising round that would value the lender at at least $8 billion, nearly doubling its $4.35 billion valuation at the end of last year. The Palmer Luckey-founded bank has also expanded rapidly operationally, with deposits climbing from $1.1 billion to $4.05 billion over the past three months and nearly 400 new clients added in that period. Bloomberg reported that the bank expects to become profitable this year, suggesting investors are weighing both fast balance-sheet growth and a near-term earnings inflection.
