Sunscreen said its team will join Fhenix after four years of applied cryptography research, with its code remaining available under the AGPL open-source license.
Fhenix has acquired applied cryptography startup Sunscreen in a move aimed at speeding development of a quantum-safe privacy layer built with FHE for Ethereum and other EVM chains. Sunscreen said it spent the past four years focused on applied cryptography research and development and concluded that Fhenix is better positioned to bring production-grade fully homomorphic encryption infrastructure to market. The Sunscreen team will join Fhenix, and Sunscreen’s code will remain available under the AGPL open-source license. Sunscreen founder Ravital Solomon is set to lead Fhenix’s research team following the deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
