CG Semi Private Limited has begun commercial production at its G1 outsourced semiconductor assembly and test, or OSAT, facility in Sanand, Gujarat, marking a new step in India’s domestic semiconductor manufacturing push. The plant, inaugurated in August 2025, has peak capacity of up to 300 million units per year, a more detailed figure than earlier reports that cited 200 million annual chip capacity. The company said the project could help strengthen supply chains, reduce reliance on imports, and support technology innovation in India as G2 remains under development.
