France will certify only security products with quantum-resistant encryption from 2027, tightening procurement rules for vendors seeking access to government agencies and critical infrastructure, while the Algorand Foundation says the crypto industry should build a common quantum-safe wallet standard compatible with 24-word seed phrases. ANSSI announced the policy at the France Quantum conference in Paris, and Samih Souissi, ANSSI’s chief of staff, told Reuters on June 16 that businesses should buy only quantum-safe products by 2030. Against that backdrop, Algorand says it aims to make wallets, developer tools and consensus quantum resilient by the end of 2027, with native post-quantum accounts due in Q3 2026 using the Falcon signature scheme. Marc Vanlerberghe said chains should avoid separate quantum-resistant secret key systems, highlighting broader concern over future quantum attacks such as “harvest now, decrypt later.”
