Summary

Coinbase said its first-half strategy is built around offering more assets, more ways to trade them and a broader financial suite on one platform. In updates released in early July, the company said tokenized U.S. stocks for non-U.S. customers are expected next month, will be 1:1 backed, include dividends and shareholder rights, support onchain trading, holding and redemption, and will not be available to U.S. persons. Coinbase also highlighted pre-IPO perpetuals starting with SpaceX and later expanding to Anthropic and OpenAI, new real-world-asset thematic perpetual futures, stock and crypto options, prediction-market upgrades and a unified global liquidity pool spanning spot, derivatives and Deribit. Beyond trading, Coinbase launched Coinbase Advisor, an AI-powered in-app investment tool offered by Coinbase Advisors, LLC, and introduced Coinbase for Agents to let AI agents trade and manage portfolios within user-set guardrails. The company also added consumer products including a travel portal offering 5% Bitcoin back, USDC-secured card access, borrowing against staked Solana via JitoSOL through Morpho on Base, and Transfer Protection. For businesses and payments, Coinbase said its Coinbase Developer Platform combines wallet, payments, trading and stablecoin issuance tools, while partnerships and infrastructure initiatives include direct INR rails in India, Hyperliquid’s USDC treasury wallet, Ethena, Checkout.com, Klarna, Webull, AWS and OpenRouter.
