The appointment comes as the Assan Alüminyum subsidiary prepares to ramp up its newly acquired Fairmont, West Virginia aluminum foil facility in the second half of the year.
Kibar Americas Group has appointed Derek Keddy as President of its North America Rolling Business Unit, a leadership move tied to the company's expansion in the region after its recent acquisition of an aluminum foil production facility in Fairmont, West Virginia. The Chicago-based group said Keddy will help drive its growth strategy and support the operational ramp-up at the plant as production is set to increase during the second half of the year to meet rising customer demand. Keddy brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the aluminum, manufacturing and energy sectors. Kibar Americas said his background includes financial strategy, commercial operations, business transformation, mergers and acquisitions, and major capital investment programs. Most recently, he held executive leadership roles at Novelis focused on profitability, growth initiatives, operational performance and investment projects across North America, and he also worked on large acquisition integrations and businesses generating billions of dollars in annual revenue. Chair Göksal Güngör said the hire reflects Kibar Americas' long-term commitment to North America and its effort to build a stronger regional aluminum platform. COO Atilla Cetinel said Keddy's industry knowledge and leadership experience would support the company's expansion and the next phase of its Fairmont operations. Keddy holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Dublin and an Executive MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School.
