The approval gives BTCS (Middle East) Ltd. a regulated base in the UAE and follows the group's recent MiCA license in Liechtenstein, extending its footprint across the Middle East and Europe.
Bitcoin Suisse said its subsidiary BTCS (Middle East) Ltd. has received Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority, the regulator of Abu Dhabi Global Market, allowing it to provide regulated digital asset financial services to institutional clients across the United Arab Emirates. The company said the approval completes a multi-stage licensing process and supports its international expansion strategy. Under the license, BTCS (Middle East) Ltd. can offer spot trading in approved virtual assets, institutional-grade custody services and hedging products, including derivatives. Bitcoin Suisse said it currently safeguards about $3.7 billion in crypto assets and ranks as the world's fourth-largest staking operator by assets. The Abu Dhabi authorization follows the group's June 22 MiCA Crypto-Asset Service Provider license from Liechtenstein's Financial Market Authority, giving it passporting rights across the European Economic Area. The expansion comes as Abu Dhabi continues to attract major crypto firms including Binance and Kraken as it builds out a regulated institutional digital asset hub.
