BlackRock said its IQQ fund will begin trading Thursday after an April 6 SEC filing, joining State Street in targeting a Nasdaq-100 ETF market long dominated by Invesco’s QQQ products.
BlackRock said Tuesday it will launch the iShares Nasdaq-100 ETF, ticker IQQ, with trading set to begin on Thursday after filing with the SEC on April 6. The fund will track the Nasdaq-100 Index and marks a direct challenge to Invesco’s long-dominant QQQ lineup, while State Street also entered the segment last month with its own Nasdaq-100 ETF. The move comes as investor demand for large technology stocks has been buoyed by the AI-driven rally; the Nasdaq-100 rose 27.5% in 2025. Neither BlackRock nor, in the earlier filing stage, State Street had disclosed fees for the proposed funds, leaving pricing and liquidity key issues for investors comparing the new entrants with QQQ’s scale and trading depth.
