Summary

Gemini has launched commission-free trading in thousands of U.S. exchange-listed stocks for eligible users across most U.S. states, broadening the crypto platform’s push into traditional financial products. The service is unavailable in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and Guam. Nasdaq will provide real-time market data, while Apex Clearing Corporation will execute, clear and safeguard customer stock trades. Gemini said it updated its Financial Industry Regulatory Authority broker-dealer registration to operate as an introducing broker, complementing earlier Commodity Futures Trading Commission approvals for its Olympus subsidiary to operate as a Derivatives Clearing Organization alongside an existing Designated Contract Market license. The stock launch adds to Gemini’s expansion into derivatives, prediction markets, artificial intelligence tools, staking, custody services and credit cards as it seeks to reduce reliance on spot crypto trading.
