Rentomojo said appliance rentals in Pune, Gurgaon, Noida and Mumbai are gaining traction as renters choose monthly plans starting at ₹149 instead of paying ₹18,000 to ₹45,000 upfront to buy a refrigerator or washing machine. The company linked demand to seasonal second-fridge use and shared households, and said ownership often carries added costs including repairs, servicing, electricity use from ageing units and weak resale value. It said delivery averages 2.54 days, plans run from a three-month minimum to 36 months, and free repairs, annual maintenance and free relocation are included. Citing its March 2026 draft red herring prospectus, Rentomojo said it operates in 22 cities with 227,511 live subscribers and an in-house team of 1,688 technicians, carpenters and painters.
