About one-third of respondents said uncertainty over AI cost structures and economics has itself become a barrier to deploying AI agents, the post says.
A KPMG survey found that 29% of executives said the hardest part after scaling AI was not the model itself but the bill, reflecting broader confusion over AI cost structures and return economics. Roughly one-third of executives acknowledged they do not understand how AI costs are built or how the economics work, and that uncertainty has itself become an obstacle to deploying AI agents (autonomous software tools that perform tasks). The finding points to a practical constraint on enterprise AI adoption: even when companies can implement the technology, unclear usage-based pricing and infrastructure spending can make it harder for decision-makers to evaluate scale-up plans.
