Second-quarter sales rose 25% from a year earlier as Almas improved, Borborema contributed under commercial production, and MSG added output following its acquisition.
Aura Minerals Inc. reported preliminary second-quarter 2026 production of 75,437 gold equivalent ounces from its six operating mines, down 8% from the first quarter and up 18% from a year earlier at current prices. At constant prices, quarterly production fell 9% sequentially and rose 16% year over year. Sales totaled 77,764 GEO in the quarter, down 4% from Q1 2026 and up 25% from Q2 2025, which the company attributed mainly to stronger sales at Almas, Borborema being under commercial production, and the acquisition of MSG. First-half production reached 157,574 GEO at current prices and 158,448 GEO at constant prices, both up 27% from the same period of 2025, while first-half sales climbed 29% to 159,129 GEO. Aura said this marked the highest first-half production in its history. Output over the last 12 months totaled 313,868 GEO, up 21% from the corresponding prior 12-month period. By mine, Aranzazu produced 17,882 GEO in Q2, Minosa 14,284 GEO, Almas 16,130 GEO, Apoena 5,704 GEO, Borborema 14,251 GEO and MSG 7,186 GEO. Almas increased output on higher ore processed volumes tied to its plant expansion, while Apoena, Borborema and MSG saw lower grades due largely to mine sequencing and turnaround work. Aura said Q2 production was in line with expectations and that it remains on track to meet full-year guidance. Chief Executive Officer and President Rodrigo Barbosa said Aura is advancing projects aimed at lifting annual production above 600,000 GEO in coming years, including underground infrastructure work at MSG, full construction at Era Dorada after board approval, open-pit development at Apoena, expansion studies at Borborema, and technical and exploration work at Matupá and Serra da Estrela. The company said the figures are preliminary and may be revised in its final Q2 2026 production results.
