Nottingham Forest have made a €17.5 million offer for Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read, but the Dutch club rejected the bid and value the defender at more than €30 million, with some reports suggesting a total package could approach €40 million. The rejection of Forest’s opening proposal was reported by Fabrizio Romano on July 9, 2026. Read, born on June 2, 2006, is under contract until June 2029 after extending his deal in April 2025, leaving Feyenoord in a strong negotiating position with no urgency to sell. Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Liverpool have all been linked with interest, although Bayern has reportedly stepped away. Read’s Transfermarkt valuation stood at €25 million as of June 2026, below Feyenoord’s reported asking price. He represents the Netherlands at U21 level and has emerged as one of Europe’s most highly rated young defenders after establishing himself as a starter in the 2024–25 season, winning the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month award in April 2025 and scoring his first Eredivisie goal in May 2025.
