
The Chinese automaker highlighted stronger overseas sales across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, with several market-share and model-ranking gains in June and earlier months.
GAC said first-half 2026 exports totaled 121,483 vehicles, up 132% from a year earlier and nearly matching its full-year 2025 export volume, as overseas wholesale and retail sales more than doubled. The company had previously said total group vehicle sales reached 773,100 units in the first six months, up 2.35% year on year, with new energy and energy-saving vehicles accounting for 62.82% of the total, while sales of GAC’s own brands rose 35.69% to 346,000 units under its Panyu Action plan. GAC also said cumulative production is expected to exceed 30 million units in July. The latest update adds more detail on regional performance. In Mexico, the AION ES and AION UT both entered the top 10 best-selling battery electric new energy vehicles from January to May, with the AION UT ranking third in the B-segment pure electric market and the AION ES second in the C-segment. GAC said it has remained the top-selling Chinese passenger car brand in Bolivia for several consecutive months. June sales rose 1,129% month on month and 24% year on year in Brazil, and 804% month on month and 21% year on year in Colombia, while Uruguay posted gains of 66% and 254%, respectively, and Paraguay rose 469% from the previous month. Retail sales in May increased 733% year on year in Costa Rica and 223% in Venezuela, while GAC said it ranks among the top five electric vehicle brands in Uruguay. In Asia-Pacific, GAC said it ranked first among private-buyer electric passenger cars in Hong Kong in April, with cumulative market share above 11% from January to May. Singapore sales rose 77% month on month and 30% year on year in June after the company took second place among local battery electric vehicle makers in April with nearly 7% market share. Thailand sales rose 207% month on month and 15% year on year in June, and GAC said it retained a leading position in the electric taxi segment. Malaysia and Indonesia posted year-on-year sales gains of 900% and 338% in April, respectively, while GAC said it remains among the top three Chinese auto brands in Cambodia. In the Middle East and Africa, June sales rose 233% month on month and 33% year on year in Côte d'Ivoire, and 510% and 118%, respectively, in Ethiopia. Retail sales in Lebanon rose 50% year on year in May, with the EMZOOM ranking first in the local B-segment SUV market. Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates all recorded triple-digit growth.
