JD Power's 2026 study also ranked Verizon highest in large enterprise and medium business, while overall business internet satisfaction edged up as lower pricing offset weaker enterprise reliability.
AT&T ranked highest among small businesses in the JD Power 2026 U.S. Business Internet Satisfaction Study, while Verizon led the large enterprise and medium business segments. JD Power said overall business internet satisfaction rose 2 points to 709 on a 1,000-point scale, helped by an 8-point improvement in cost of service to 682, even as satisfaction among large enterprises declined. The drop in the large enterprise segment was driven largely by a 12-point fall in performance and reliability, reflecting greater sensitivity to downtime and rising demands from tools such as artificial intelligence. JD Power said enterprises are increasingly judging providers on broader end-to-end reliability rather than basic connection uptime alone. In the rankings, Verizon scored 736 in large enterprise and 728 in medium business, while AT&T scored 686 in small business, ahead of Verizon at 680. JD Power said the segment averages were 723 for large enterprise, 710 for medium business and 659 for small business. The study was based on responses from 4,091 business customers and was fielded from March through May 2026. AT&T has said the small business result supports its "converged connectivity" strategy of combining internet and wireless services. The company has highlighted offerings including AT&T Business Fiber with 5G Backup, AT&T Internet Air for Business, AT&T Wireless Broadband, AT&T Dynamic Defense and the AT&T Guarantee for Business as part of that push.
