QIZ Security raises $17 million seed round led by Bessemer, Merlin

The cybersecurity company plans to expand its cryptographic posture management platform as enterprises prepare for risks tied to quantum attacks and the shift to quantum-resistant encryption.

Summary

QIZ Security said on July 9 that it raised a $17 million seed round co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Merlin Ventures, with participation from Evolution Equity Partners, Qbeat Ventures, Singtel Innov8 and Qino Cyber Capital. The New York-based company said the funding will support product development and expansion of its cryptographic posture management platform, which is designed to help organizations identify, assess and remediate vulnerable cryptographic assets across on-premises and cloud environments as they transition to quantum-resistant encryption. The company says its platform automates compliance workflows and risk prioritization, and targets threats including “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks, in which adversaries store encrypted data for possible future decryption using more powerful quantum systems. QIZ said it was founded in 2025, has more than six years of post-quantum cryptography field experience and partnerships with more than 100 organizations. It also announced a strategic collaboration with Google Cloud in May 2026 focused on visibility and support for enterprises moving to quantum-resistant cryptography solutions.

Terms & Concepts
  • cryptographic posture management: A security approach for identifying, assessing and managing how encryption is used across an organization’s systems.
  • post-quantum cryptography: Encryption methods designed to remain secure against attacks from quantum computers.
  • harvest now, decrypt later: A threat model in which attackers collect encrypted data today in hopes of decoding it later with stronger computing power.
