GIFT Nifty pointed to a stronger open as Tata Consultancy Services rose 3.3% after a revenue beat, with softer oil, firmer Asian markets and Middle East caution shaping sentiment.
Indian shares were set for a higher open on Friday, with IT stocks likely to lead after Tata Consultancy Services beat June-quarter revenue estimates and its shares rose 3.3% in early trade. GIFT Nifty futures traded at 24,117.5 at 8:03 a.m. IST, pointing to an opening above the Nifty 50’s Thursday close of 23,962.80. Sentiment was also supported by steadier Asian markets and Brent crude near $76 a barrel after a 2.2% drop in the previous session, though investors remained cautious over the Middle East. TCS was helped by stronger spending from banking clients and a weaker rupee, while analysts said steady deal wins and rising AI revenue offered visibility for a gradual earnings recovery.
