China investment fair CIFIT promotes September Xiamen event in Hong Kong and Macao

The Sept. 8–11 fair plans a record 200,000-square-meter exhibition area and participation from nearly 50 countries and regions, according to organizer CIFIT.

The 26th China International Fair for Investment & Trade held promotional roadshows in Hong Kong and Macao on July 8–9 ahead of its Sept. 8–11 event in Xiamen, using the meetings to draw business interest from the two special administrative regions and highlight China's push for two-way investment. Organizer CIFIT said this year's fair will span a record 200,000 square meters, the largest in its history, and is positioned as a flagship platform under the "Invest in China" initiative. Nearly 50 countries and regions, including Germany, Italy, Brazil, Portugal, the UAE, and South Korea, are set to exhibit. International organizations including UNCTAD (UN trade and development body), UNIDO (UN industrial development body), the WTO (global trade body), WAIPA (investment promotion agencies network), and the New Development Bank are also slated to participate. Planned programming includes UNCTAD's second Future Investment Conference on "Global Investment for a Changing World" and a dedicated UNIDO forum. The fair will also host a Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao session, with the Hong Kong SAR government, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Macao Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute, and ChongWa (Macao) Financial Asset Exchange Co., Ltd. participating through promotion events, pavilions, and matchmaking activities.
