STL said it secured a final victory in its European patent dispute with Fujikura Ltd. after the European Patent Office (EPO) Technical Board of Appeal, the bloc's patent appeals body, revoked Fujikura's European Patent EP 3796060 in its entirety at a June 24, 2026 hearing. The company said the ruling is final, binding and non-appealable, and that it resolves the UK patent dispute between the parties in STL's favor. Sterlite Technologies said the outcome strengthens its position in optical connectivity markets across the UK and Europe and underscores its ability to defend its intellectual property across North America, Europe, MEA, India and the rest of the world. STL said its IP portfolio includes 785 patents across major global markets. Group CTO Dr. Badri Gomatam said the ruling affirmed the strength of the company's global IP position, R&D and technology capabilities.
