Mojtaba Khamenei said Tehran will maintain the late supreme leader Ali Khamenei’s political course, keep pursuing accountability, and respond with retaliation while again blaming the United States and Israel.
Iran will keep to the political line of the late supreme leader Ali Khamenei and will not alter its established policy direction because of the leader’s death, Mojtaba Khamenei said in a written address on July 11. He said Iran would safeguard national independence and sovereignty, again named the United States and Israel as responsible for the deaths of the late supreme leader and others, and said Tehran would continue pursuing accountability and deliver a retaliatory response. He added that seeking responsibility for the victims is a shared demand of the Iranian people and that this objective will not change with a change in leadership.
