The Proof of Asset integration adds real-time onchain holdings, custody and valuation data to BUIDL, which leads BlackRock’s $2.93 billion tokenized fund business and has expanded across eight blockchains.
BlackRock’s tokenized money market fund BUIDL has integrated Chronicle Protocol’s Proof of Asset verification layer, adding real-time, independently verified onchain data on holdings, custody and valuation. The BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, launched with Securitize in March 2024, remains the core of BlackRock’s onchain fund business, which has reached $2.93 billion, with Ethereum hosting $1.1 billion and BUIDL spanning eight networks. BUIDL invests in cash, U.S. Treasury bills and repurchase agreements, is limited to qualified purchasers, and had about $2.58 billion in assets when Moody’s assigned it a AAA-mf rating. BlackRock has also filed with the SEC to launch BSTBL and BRSRV, two tokenized money market products aimed at stablecoin reserve cash. The Chronicle integration could raise transparency standards across tokenized real-world assets, while also creating some dependence on a single verification provider.
