Tom Lee said at WebX 2026 that Ethereum is entering a second-growth phase, as Bitmine nears its five-year ETH accumulation goal with most of its holdings staked.
Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee said at WebX 2026 on July 13 that the company holds 5.74 million ETH, equal to about 4.8% of total supply, and plans to gradually raise that share to 5%. Lee said Bitmine has reached 95% of its five-year accumulation goal in 12 months and has staked roughly 4.87 million ETH. He framed the strategy around what he described as Ethereum's second-growth stage, driven by ETF approval, stablecoin adoption and Wall Street Layer2 expansion. Lee tied the approach to a broader Ethereum push that includes MAVAN, described as Bitmine's "Moonshot" investment plan, cooperation tied to EF 2.0, ETH preferred stock issuance, the company's NYSE listing, and its inclusion in the Russell 1000. He said Bitmine aims to fund EF-related projects, back crypto-finance unicorns, and reinforce the Ethereum ecosystem, while expressing hope that under a "new foundation," ETH could serve as a settlement layer for the AI era.
