TSMC plans to increase prices for mature-process wafer foundry services from January next year after already raising advanced-process prices, Taiwan's Economic Daily reported on July 13. IC design firms told the newspaper that higher mature-process quotes this year have already lifted production costs, and that any further TSMC increase would likely trigger renewed talks with clients to pass those costs through the semiconductor supply chain.
