SNS Insider says demand for sustainable packaging, smart labeling and automotive bonding applications is supporting growth in adhesive films, with Asia Pacific leading in 2025 and North America expected to grow fastest.
The adhesive films market was valued at USD 21.39 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 35.68 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 5.27% during 2026–2035, SNS Insider said. The report links growth to rising demand for sustainable and high-performance film solutions across packaging, automotive, healthcare, electronics and smart-label applications, even as raw material availability and resin price swings remain cost pressures for manufacturers. Acrylic-based adhesive films accounted for about 42.8% of 2025 revenue, supported by durability, weather resistance, ultraviolet stability and broad use in automotive, packaging and medical applications. By film material, BOPP led with roughly 38.5% of the market because of its tensile strength, transparency, moisture barrier properties and recyclability, while tapes were the largest application at about 41.2% and packaging was the top end-use industry with around 46.8% of revenue. Asia Pacific held a 42.6% market share in 2025, led by China, while North America is expected to post the fastest growth through 2035. The U.S. market was estimated at USD 4.55 billion in 2025 and is forecast to reach USD 8.03 billion by 2035, with a CAGR of 5.86%. The report also highlights growing use of bio-based and recyclable adhesive films, as well as smart packaging films with NFC and RFID capabilities that can support traceability and anti-counterfeiting in pharmaceutical and premium-goods packaging. Recent developments cited in the report include Park Aerospace Corp.'s 2025 launch of AeroAdhere FAE-350-1 for aerospace bonding and Phytonics' 2024 launch of a self-adhesive film for PV solar modules designed to reduce glare and improve light absorption.
