HCLTech tops Q1 revenue estimates as quarterly profit rises 20.3%

India’s third-largest IT services firm reported 345.79 billion rupees in April-June revenue, booked $2.4 billion in new deals and outlined plans to invest up to ₹3,500 crore in AI data centers.

Summary

HCLTech beat analyst estimates for first-quarter revenue, posting consolidated April-June revenue of 345.79 billion rupees ($3.62 billion), up 13.94% from a year earlier and above the 343.5 billion rupees forecast compiled by LSEG. India’s third-largest IT services firm said growth was supported by its financial services, technology and retail segments. Net profit rose 20.3% to 46.24 billion rupees, also ahead of analyst estimates of 45.12 billion rupees. Revenue in constant currency increased 2.6%, while new bookings climbed to a record $2.4 billion. Advanced AI revenue rose to $171 million, up 10.6% quarter on quarter and 62.1% year on year in constant currency terms. HCLTech also said it plans to invest up to ₹3,500 crore, or about $370 million, to establish AI data centers with potential capacity of 50MW. The company maintained its FY27 guidance for 1% to 4% revenue growth in constant currency, 1.5% to 4.5% growth in services revenue and an EBIT margin of 17.5% to 18.5%, and declared a quarterly dividend of ₹12 per share. The results come as analysts have cut expectations for India’s $315-billion IT industry amid weaker discretionary technology spending and concerns that advanced AI tools could disrupt software companies’ business models. Larger rival Tata Consultancy Services also beat quarterly revenue estimates last week, adding to hopes for a gradual earnings recovery in the sector. HCLTech shares had closed 4.9% higher ahead of the results.
