
CCIP’s role at Aave now formally spans GHO transfers, governance through a.DI and Stable Vaults functions such as rebalancing, yield optimization, deposits and transfers across Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum.
Aave has designated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, as the default cross-chain infrastructure across its ecosystem, extending its role across GHO transfers, governance execution through Aave’s a.DI infrastructure and the Aave App’s cross-chain logic for Stable Vaults. The move standardizes how Aave handles token movements and operational messaging across blockchains. CCIP already supported cross-chain GHO transfers and multi-chain governance execution through a.DI. Aave said Stable Vaults will let users carry out cross-chain functions across Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum, including vault rebalancing, yield optimization, asset deposits and transfers, broadening CCIP’s role inside the protocol’s user-facing products. Aave said security, scalability and interoperability were key reasons for choosing CCIP as its standard. The decision underscores how decentralized finance protocols are increasingly consolidating token transfers, governance messaging and app-level operations under a single interoperability layer as multi-chain activity expands.
