The integration lets advertisers in Japan use SEVEN-ELEVEN JAPAN retail data across OTT, CTV, audio and display campaigns through The Trade Desk’s DSP.
The Trade Desk said it has integrated retail purchase data from SEVEN-ELEVEN JAPAN CO., LTD. into its platform, giving advertisers in Japan programmatic access to audience segments built from the purchase behavior of about 28 million 7-Eleven App members. The offering is available now to all advertisers in Japan and, the company said, marks one of the leading examples in the country of SEJ purchase data being connected to a DSP (demand-side platform for ad buying). The integration is designed to let brands activate retail data at scale across the open internet, including OTT (streaming TV delivered over the internet), connected TV, audio and display. The Trade Desk said advertisers can use always-on audience segments, including demographic and purchase-based groups, curated from a broad range of product categories and informed by up to one year of purchase history through ID-POS data (purchase records linked to customer IDs). SEJ operates around 22,000 stores nationwide and sees about 20 million daily visitors, with both figures stated as of the end of May 2026. The companies said the API connection allows the data to be refreshed regularly within The Trade Desk platform, aiming to reduce the fragmented and operationally complex nature of retail data access in Japan and to help advertisers plan, activate and optimize campaigns more efficiently. Kei Majima, General Manager, Japan, The Trade Desk, said Japan’s retail media market is moving into a new stage where programmatic access to high-quality data will be increasingly important for performance and accountability in digital advertising. The company also framed the launch as part of a broader shift in Japan from one-off retail data integrations toward always-on infrastructure and privacy-conscious activation at scale.
