HashKey, Shanghai Commercial Bank and Visa launch Hong Kong co-branded crypto rewards card

Eligible HashKey Exchange members can earn up to 4% rewards in HKD vouchers that can be used for supported cryptocurrency purchases or trading fees on the licensed platform.

Summary

HashKey Exchange, Shanghai Commercial Bank and Visa have launched a co-branded credit card in Hong Kong that links everyday spending to rewards usable on HashKey’s licensed digital asset platform. Eligible HashKey Exchange members can apply through the companies’ mobile apps for the Shanghai Commercial Bank HashKey Visa Signature Credit Card. The card does not distribute cryptocurrency directly. Instead, cardholders earn one point for every HK$1 spent, and on each monthly statement date 250 points are converted into HK$1 in HashKey HKD Cash Vouchers. Those vouchers are credited to users’ HashKey accounts and can be used to buy supported cryptocurrencies or offset trading fees. During the promotion, Shanghai Commercial Bank’s product page lists 2% rewards on eligible local spending and 4% on eligible overseas spending. New customers may also receive up to HK$1,200 in HashKey HKD Cash Vouchers or HK$1,000 in spending credit, subject to the offer’s terms. Shanghai Commercial Bank issues and manages the card and handles banking and credit services, while Visa provides the global payment network and transaction infrastructure. HashKey said it does not provide credit or banking services, and the bank determines whether to approve each application. Applicants must hold a HashKey account, live in Hong Kong and be at least 18 years old. HashKey Exchange Business Group CEO Haiyang Ru said the partnership is meant to expand regulated digital asset use beyond trading, while Visa Hong Kong and Macau general manager Paulina Leong said the companies aim to connect digital asset services with familiar payment methods. The launch follows an October 2025 announcement that Shanghai Commercial Bank and HashKey planned to develop a co-branded Visa card, and comes as Asia’s crypto rewards card market continues to broaden.
