Nikkei 225 rises 0.74% as KOSPI rebounds to close up 0.73%

Japan’s benchmark gained 500.77 points with Kioxia and SoftBank higher, while South Korea’s KOSPI recovered from a more than 5% intraday drop as KOSDAQ still fell 1.92% after a trading halt.
