The integration brings Polymarket trading into Blockchain.com’s app for eligible users in supported international markets as the World Cup fuels a broader push by crypto firms into event-based trading.
Blockchain.com has integrated Polymarket’s prediction markets into its app, allowing eligible users in supported international markets, including the European Union but not the United States, to trade on sports, political, macroeconomic, entertainment and other real-world events without using a separate platform. The feature launched on Tuesday ahead of the FIFA World Cup semifinals, extending Blockchain.com beyond its earlier SnapMarkets product, which was limited to short-term cryptocurrency price speculation. Peter Smith said the company expects strong demand for the rollout as prediction-market activity accelerates around the tournament. Bernstein analysts estimate sports betting and prediction-market platforms could process about $10 billion in trading volume during the World Cup, while Polymarket’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Winner market has generated more than $4.25 billion in volume. As of July 15, Spain was the favorite to win, followed by England and Argentina ahead of the July 19 final. The move also fits a broader expansion by crypto and market infrastructure firms into event contracts, with Coinbase partnering with Kalshi and Intercontinental Exchange investing in Polymarket and agreeing to distribute its data globally. Blockchain.com confidentially filed for an initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in May, and Dune Analytics said prediction-market platforms handled nearly $50 billion in notional volume last month, with Polymarket’s international and U.S. exchanges contributing about $15 billion.
