The contract with Hess Corporation calls for delivery in 2027, with the winterized rigs expected to operate in the Bakken and lift Ranger’s active ECHO fleet to 20 by year-end 2027.
Ranger Energy Services said it has signed a contract with Hess Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, to deploy three additional ECHO hybrid workover rigs in the Lower 48 United States. The rigs, which Ranger said are expected to be delivered in 2027, will include winterization packages and are expected to operate in the Bakken. Ranger introduced the ECHO rig in 2025 and described it as the industry’s first Hybrid Double Electric Workover Rig, part of its broader effort to convert and electrify its conventional fleet. The company said the new agreement would bring its active ECHO rig fleet to 20 by the end of 2027 as customer interest in the technology increases.
