Summary

Sperax said it has become an official IBM Business Partner, a move the company says will extend its SperaxOS AI agent workspace for DeFi (blockchain-based finance) into enterprise and regulated-market use cases. The Palo Alto, California-based protocol said the partnership links its on-chain finance tooling with IBM’s enterprise AI, hybrid cloud and go-to-market network. The company positioned SperaxOS as an execution layer for AI in finance, designed to turn AI agents from chat interfaces into governed on-chain actors. It said the platform lets users turn plain-English prompts into previewed, risk-scored blockchain transactions, with security controls between the agent and the wallet. Sperax listed core platform features including more than 100 built-in DeFi tools, guarded execution with spend limits and MEV (maximal extractable value) protection, a visual strategy builder, NFT-based agent registration under the ERC-8004 standard on Arbitrum, autonomous payments over the x402 protocol, and developer integrations through TypeScript and Python SDKs, a REST API and an MCP server. It also said SperaxOS supports more than 70 AI model providers and is open source and self-hostable. Under the partnership roadmap, Sperax plans to integrate IBM’s watsonx model family into the multi-provider runtime, adding IBM Granite models for inference and IBM governance tooling for risk and compliance. Sperax said that should help enterprises deploy DeFi agents using AI infrastructure they already trust. The company said the IBM partnership adds to recent momentum after it raised $16.8 million from investors including Jump Crypto, Polychain Capital, Amber Group, Outlier Ventures, FBG Capital and Steve Aoki. It also cited infrastructure backing from Google Cloud in January 2026 and the public open-source launch of SperaxOS in June 2026.
