Keel Infrastructure said Sherbrooke approved agreements supporting a new 96 MW data center campus in Québec by consolidating capacity from three existing Bitcoin mining facilities into a single site for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence workloads. The company, formerly known as Bitfarms, said the three facilities are The Bunker at 48 MW, Leger at 30 MW and Garlock at 18 MW, and that the project would cover about 16,400 square meters and could become one of Québec’s largest data center developments. The approval granted on July 13, 2026, also covers a land sale valued at about C$2.2 million, with the purchase expected to close in the first quarter of 2027 subject to further regulatory reviews. Keel said the campus is expected to be lease-ready by 2027. The company rebranded from Bitfarms effective April 1, 2026, as it shifted toward data center development while continuing legacy Bitcoin mining operations. Sherbrooke is part of Keel’s broader $1.8 billion North American data center buildout plan, which the company says includes a 2.2 gigawatt pipeline.
