The Dubai lender has begun offering real-time U.S. dollar cross-border payments over Partior to corporate and institutional clients, starting with beneficiaries that hold accounts at JPMorgan.
Emirates NBD has gone live on the Partior network, becoming one of the first financial institutions in the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye region to launch real-time cross-border U.S. dollar payments using blockchain-based clearing and settlement infrastructure. The bank said it completed a live transaction with JPMorgan acting as both settlement and beneficiary bank and is now rolling out the service to corporate and institutional clients making instant USD payments to beneficiaries with accounts at JPMorgan. The launch is the first phase of a broader multi-currency expansion that includes adding more global banks, additional currencies and settlement corridors, and programmable liquidity management tools. Emirates NBD said the rollout marks the commercial execution of a strategic relationship and equity investment initiated through its Innovation Fund. The move extends the bank’s longer digital transformation push, which has included a 2016 technology overhaul, the 2017 launch of Liv, its API Souq integration platform, and more recent work on digital assets, tokenization, artificial intelligence and fintech partnerships.
