The package spans renewable energy, tourism, healthcare and technology, with flagship bets in solar manufacturing, EV battery materials and new sector-focused funds backed by Oman’s sovereign wealth ecosystem.
Future Fund Oman, a portfolio of Oman Investment Authority, announced 105 strategic projects and investments worth USD 1.744 billion as the Sultanate of Oman pushes ahead with economic diversification. The package combines USD 585 million in commitments from FFO with around USD 458 million in local investment across renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, tourism, healthcare, medical technologies, innovation and food industries. Among the largest projects, Orion Solar plans an integrated solar cell and module facility in SOHAR Freezone with annual capacity of six gigawatts, described as the first of its kind in the Middle East, while Gallant Industrial Project will make 66,000 tonnes a year of lithium iron phosphate cathode material, a key input for electric vehicle batteries. The fund is also backing the As' Sodah Island Resort, Terminal 11, Alma and XCyber, while committing USD 200 million each to Vivo Capital and Certares and launching a Healthcare Investment Fund with USD 130 million in capital. Established in 2024 with USD 5.2 billion to support Oman’s post-COVID-19 recovery, the fund said it is expanding partnerships aimed at knowledge transfer, foreign capital attraction and progress toward Oman Vision 2040.
