Italy’s final HICP (Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, an EU inflation measure) inflation reading came in at 0% month over month, below the 0.1% forecast and down from the prior 0.1% reading. The flat monthly print points to cooling price pressures compared with the previous month. Because HICP is the standard measure used across the European Union, the result may feed into broader assessments of inflation momentum in the euro area.
