Tzolis’s arrival follows Leandro Trossard’s departure to Besiktas and gives Arsenal a 24-year-old attacker returning to English football after a previous spell at Norwich City. Rogers, 23, has emerged as the club’s leading target, with reported valuations ranging from £70 million to £130 million and market estimates around €90 million after he won the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2025. Aston Villa, who signed Rogers from Middlesbrough for £8 million in February 2024 and have him under contract through 2031, hold significant leverage in any talks. Reports suggest personal terms on a potential five-year deal are close, leaving the fee as the main hurdle. If completed at the levels being discussed, the move would rank among the most expensive domestic transfers in Premier League history and could also give Villa greater room to reinvest under the league’s profitability and sustainability rules.
