Ecoanalitica said the volume averaged about $44 million a day, equal to roughly 75% of the country’s monthly oil exports and above the official exchange rate by 15.5%, though separate calculations suggest a lower oil-export comparison.
USDT trading on Binance’s peer-to-peer market in Venezuela reached about $1.389 billion between June 11 and July 13, averaging roughly $44 million a day. Ecoanalitica said that volume was equivalent to about 75% of the country’s monthly oil exports and represented 64.2% of the Central Bank of Venezuela’s $2.163 billion foreign-currency supply in June, underscoring how heavily dollar-linked stablecoins are being used as a parallel channel for accessing hard currency. A separate calculation based on June crude exports of about 1.2 million barrels per day and an average Merey crude price of $71.13 a barrel puts the oil-export comparison closer to 52%, leaving Ecoanalitica’s 75% estimate dependent on method and reference period. USDT traded at about 840 bolivars on local P2P markets, around 15.5% above the official rate of 727 bolivars per U.S. dollar on July 16, though the spread was narrower than earlier in 2026, when it was near 30%.
