The Layer 1 blockchain said the move is aimed at preparing its network for the post-quantum era by simplifying how users can shift cryptographic keys onchain.
Aptos has launched post-quantum key migration as a single onchain transaction, marking a security-focused update for the Layer 1 blockchain. The move is designed to help users transition cryptographic keys to post-quantum protections, a step the project says supports its positioning for the post-quantum era. In practice, key migration refers to replacing existing wallet or account keys with new ones, and doing so in one onchain transaction can reduce operational friction for users securing assets and accounts.
