The rollout on Fangzhou’s internet hospital platform deepens the companies’ collaboration as China becomes the first market to commercialize the basal insulin/GLP-1 RA combination therapy.
Fangzhou Inc. said it has launched Kyinsu® on its internet hospital platform in China, expanding its work with Novo Nordisk to widen access to innovative type 2 diabetes treatment through AI-powered chronic disease management. The company described China as the first market globally to commercialize Kyinsu®, making Fangzhou one of the product’s key launch partners. Kyinsu® is a once-weekly basal insulin/GLP-1 RA combination therapy. Fangzhou said the product combines insulin icodec, a once-weekly basal insulin, with semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, to target multiple pathophysiological mechanisms of type 2 diabetes. The company said the therapy reduces injections from daily to once weekly and is designed to lower the burden of insulin treatment while maintaining glycemic control. The launch is aimed at a large domestic market. Fangzhou cited figures showing China has about 148 million adults living with diabetes, or roughly one-quarter of the global adult diabetes population. It said daily injections, hypoglycemia and weight gain remain barriers to long-term adherence for many patients. Fangzhou said its AI+H2H, or Hospital-to-Home, ecosystem links digital health services with pharmaceutical access and ongoing care. The company said its AI Health Manager and AI Medication Assistant support physicians with follow-up, medication guidance and personalized health management, while patient education content is intended to improve awareness and adherence over time. The company framed the rollout as part of a broader strategic collaboration with global biopharmaceutical companies and said it will continue strengthening its AI-powered chronic disease management platform. It also linked the effort to the Healthy China 2030 initiative.
