Bloomberg reported the Chinese AI startup, also known as Baichuan Intelligence, is targeting a 2027 Hong Kong listing after a roughly 5 billion yuan Series A as part of a broader Chinese AI funding push.
01.AI, also referred to as Baichuan Intelligence, is preparing fundraising plans with a goal of going public in 2027, with Bloomberg reporting Hong Kong as the intended listing venue. Founder Wang Xiaochuan said at a January 13, 2026 media briefing that the company had not formally begun the IPO process. The Chinese large-model developer raised roughly 5 billion yuan, or about $700 million, in a July 2024 Series A that valued it at more than 20 billion yuan, or above $2.7 billion, with backing from Alibaba, Tencent, Xiaomi and municipal AI investment funds. The planned listing sits within a wider wave of Chinese AI companies seeking capital through IPOs or loans through 2027 to compete with U.S. rivals.
