The PRNewswire announcement said the TÜV Rheinland-issued certificate makes it the first energy storage PCS to meet German medium- and high-voltage grid connection and grid-forming tests.
Sungrow said its SC210HX series Power Conversion Systems won the VDE FNN Prototype Certificate from TÜV Rheinland of Germany, which the company described as the first energy storage PCS to pass the full set of German medium- and high-voltage grid connection standards together with grid-forming verification. The company said the certification allows PowerTitan systems using the PCS to shorten grid-connection timelines, lower project acceptance risks and improve access to Europe's inertia market, while supporting project bankability and financing. Sungrow said the framework developed by VDE FNN, Germany's grid technology and operational standards body, is widely used by European grid operators, developers and financial institutions as a benchmark for compliance, reliability and grid-support capability. The company added that its grid-forming technology enables functions including frequency regulation, voltage regulation, backup power support, black start and islanded operation.
