UK AI startup CuspAI has launched the AI Materials Foundry alliance, a coalition of more than 48 technology companies, industrial firms and research institutions that includes Nvidia, Meta and Hyundai Motor Group. Bloomberg reported on July 20 that the initiative was launched on Monday and is aimed at developing AI software to make materials discovery faster and cheaper for chipmaking and other industries. The move highlights growing efforts to use artificial intelligence to shorten the typically slow and expensive process of identifying new materials for advanced manufacturing.
