The firms are targeting regulated digital asset products for European institutional investors, with the latest announcement emphasizing MiCA-compliant offerings for pensions, insurers and foundations as Europe’s rulebook takes effect.
Alfakraft Fonder AB and Bitwise said they have entered a strategic partnership to develop regulated digital asset investment solutions for professional and institutional investors across Europe. The tie-up is aimed at pensions, insurers and foundations seeking compliant exposure to digital assets, with the firms positioning the effort around growing institutional demand, governance standards and risk management. The latest announcement sharpens the target market and regulatory framing, describing the planned products as regulatory-compliant offerings for European institutional investors as the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regime advances. The companies still have not disclosed launch dates, assets under management targets or the exact product format, leaving open whether the offerings will take the form of exchange-traded products, fund-of-funds or separately managed accounts. The partnership builds on Bitwise’s broader European expansion strategy and gives the firm access to Alfakraft’s network in Nordic institutional finance, while Alfakraft adds digital assets to its alternative investment offering. Bitwise is described in the existing information as having about $9 billion in client assets across more than 70 products, compared with an earlier company statement that said it had over $11 billion in client assets.
