BP said it has agreed to sell its Austrian mobility, convenience and electric vehicle charging businesses to Volenergy AG under confidential terms. The transaction is expected to complete at the end of 2026 and includes 250 BP-branded retail sites, EV charging infrastructure and BP's 100% stake in BP Retail Austria GmbH, along with its shares in three non-operated joint ventures, subject to regulatory approvals. The sale fits BP's stated strategy of simplifying its portfolio, cutting costs and refocusing on oil and gas investments. BP has previously sold its mobility and convenience businesses in the Netherlands in 2025, Turkey in 2024 and Switzerland in 2022. Volenergy AG, part of Volare Group AG, operates Switzerland's largest fuel-station network with more than 730 locations and bought BP's Swiss retail network in 2022.
