The company described him as a prominent figure in international business and a key contributor to Patagonia’s growth, citing his roles as a director, significant shareholder and investor. It said his backing was particularly important in advancing the Calcatreu Project in Rio Negro Province, Argentina. Miguens served as Chairman from July 2019, when Patagonia’s shares began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange, to October 2022. Patagonia said his strategic vision, capital oversight and long-term approach helped move forward its portfolio of gold and silver assets in Argentina. Chief Executive Officer Christopher van Tienhoven said Miguens’ support was fundamental to building the company’s foundation and positioning it for future growth. The company said the Miguens family plans to remain a long-term shareholder and continue supporting the responsible development of mining in Argentina through Patagonia Gold’s projects. Under the applicable estate arrangements, his shareholdings will pass to his heirs. Patagonia said it intends to honor his legacy by continuing disciplined project development, operational execution and sustainable value creation.
