Robinhood Chain’s early momentum now extends to developer activity, with Electric Capital’s dashboard showing the new network at the top of ecosystem rankings less than two weeks after launch.
Uniswap surpassed $1 billion in cumulative trading volume on Robinhood Chain by July 10, nine days after the Layer 2 network’s July 1 public mainnet launch, and the chain’s early momentum has since broadened from trading and user growth to developer activity. Electric Capital’s live Developer Report dashboard showed Robinhood Chain at the top of its blockchain ecosystem rankings by active open-source developers on a rolling 28-day basis, a position that Alchemy CEO Nikil Viswanathan highlighted on July 21 when he wrote on X that the network had “just hit #1.” Robinhood Chain’s fast rise is unusual for a newly launched network, where developer ecosystems often take far longer to build. The chain uses Arbitrum technology and is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, which can make it easier for developers to port existing Ethereum-based applications rather than rebuild from scratch. Robinhood also launched with established partners including Alchemy, BitGo, Chainlink and Uniswap, and the company says it has nearly 28 million customers across 38 countries, giving developers access to mature infrastructure and a large potential user base. Earlier network data had already pointed to strong adoption. Token Terminal showed daily transactions holding between 7 million and 11 million through the first three weeks after launch, with block times falling to 100 milliseconds, while Robinhood covered user gas fees for the network’s first 90 days. On July 14, Johann Kerbrat said the chain had already processed more than 52.5 million transactions and was approaching 1 million addresses in less than two weeks. Research cited from Bernstein said total value locked had exceeded $323 million and weekly decentralized exchange volume had surpassed $3 billion. Robinhood has also expanded distribution of blockchain products, making its Stock Tokens available in about 120 countries depending on local laws, while eligible U.S. users can earn about 7% interest on USDG through Morpho. Whether Robinhood Chain can stay at the top of Electric Capital’s developer rankings remains uncertain because the dashboard updates rapidly with new code contributions, but its early rise suggests a traditional finance platform can draw builders quickly when paired with Ethereum compatibility, established infrastructure and a large retail audience.
