Sleep Country Canada said it has completed the acquisition of substantially all of Sleep Number’s assets after a court-supervised sale, creating a retail group with more than 800 locations.
Sleep Country Canada said it has acquired substantially all of Sleep Number’s assets following a competitive, court-supervised sale process, marking the next step after the earlier court approval of the transaction. The company said the combined footprint now exceeds 800 locations, making Sleep Country’s Family of Brands the world’s second-largest sleep retailer. Sleep Country said the deal combines its retail scale and customer-focused model with Sleep Number’s personalized sleep technology and product innovation. Stewart Schaefer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sleep Country Canada, described the transaction as a “game-changing acquisition” and said the company plans to maintain service standards while integrating the businesses. The announcement adds operational detail to the transaction by emphasizing continuity for customers and support for employees as integration planning advances. Sleep Country reiterated that customers should continue to receive the same service, support and expertise from the brands, and said further updates on integration milestones will be provided as plans progress.
