Bitcoin Japan, a Metaplanet subsidiary, said an EVO Fund facility using zero-coupon convertible bonds and stock acquisition rights supports its Bitcoin treasury strategy, with ¥662 million initially earmarked for BTC purchases during a market downturn.
Metaplanet said its subsidiary Bitcoin Japan has secured financing of up to ¥9.66 billion, or about $59.5 million, from EVO Fund as it expands a Bitcoin treasury strategy that had previously signaled continued buying during weaker market conditions. The structure combines zero-coupon convertible bonds and stock acquisition rights, but only ¥662 million, or roughly $4 million, is designated for an immediate Bitcoin purchase. The company has framed the strategy around strengthening reserves amid macroeconomic uncertainty and lower prices, while the remaining financing is expected to support broader private equity and operational expansion over the coming months.
