Tongwei used Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich to introduce two upgraded solar modules aimed at different parts of the market: the TNC 3.0 BIFIMAX for utility-scale projects and the TNC 2.0 G12R-48 for residential rooftops. The flagship launch was the TNC 3.0 BIFIMAX, which Tongwei said was certified by TÜV Rheinland and reaches up to 93.07% bifaciality (rear-side power generation capability), up to 770 W of output and up to 24.8% conversion efficiency. The company said the higher bifaciality can materially improve project economics, citing a 100 MW solar plant in Hamburg, Germany, where the setup would generate 180,000 euros in additional annual revenue versus standard modules and 81.62 million kWh of extra clean electricity over its lifetime. Tongwei also said the module is built for harsh environments, with a temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C and specialized shingled interconnection designed to raise resistance to microcracks by more than 100% under heavy snow and strong winds. For the residential segment, Tongwei presented the upgraded TNC 2.0 G12R-48, which offers up to 480 W, 24% conversion efficiency and a compact size of less than 2 m² to help optimize limited roof space and simplify installation. The company said its 360° 3D passivation technology improves low-light performance, extending generation from earlier dawn to later dusk, while the shingled interconnection and uniform design are intended to improve durability and blend with modern residential architecture.
